Rules summary

  • The Challenge begins June 2011 and continues through to at most April 14, 2012.
  • The Challenge is open to anyone, but each team must contain at least one ISMRM member in good standing.
  • You have to register to enter (no cost to register and enter). Once you register and agree to the Rules, you’ll have access to the data.
  • If you win, you must be willing to either disclose your algorithm including parameter choice, or share your algorithm in a black-box manner for any validation request within a year from the end of the Challenge.
  • Each team may submit their results at most once a day, with the top results updated in the Leader board.
  • In February, top teams (according to Leader Board standing at February 15th 23:59:59 EST) will be invited to submit their algorithms. At that point, the Challenge will be closed to the remaining participants. The submitted algorithms will be run through an expanded set of cases by the Challenge organizers without case-by-case adjustments. Leader board will be updated, and the invited teams may resubmit their algorithms every week. The separation results are verified for speed and to be sensible.
  • Winning team is announced at ISMRM 2013 in Salt Lake City. Winning team will be invited to contribute to the next version of fat/water toolbox.
Now for the fine print...
